“My daughter has fallen in love with this awesome story that creates hands-on fun! Giving her skills to get through making mistakes and taking deep breathes and trying again... what a wonderful lesson and really connected to how kiddos feel. Tina you are talented for sure!! Highly recommend!"

LISSA

“I am a teacher and purchased this book for my classroom. My students loved the book. They loved getting to learn about a part of someone else's culture and we especially loved the recipes in the back!”

SANDRA

"This book is so adorable and fun! The rhyming, vibrant pictures and engaging story makes it super easy for kids to follow along. I love that Southeast Asian culture and food is being represented, it makes kids excited to learn more about different cultures! The recipe in the back is an amazing bonus. Great addition to any classroom, library or bookshelf at home."

MEET LITTLE
NANA!

Nana (pronounced nah-nah) is a curious and clever 9-year-old with a heart as big as her appetite! She’s got a signature messy bun (because who has time for perfect hair when there are spring rolls to roll?), a giggle that makes everyone smile, and a tiny apron that’s always dusted in flour or sticky with something sweet. Nana’s favorite thing in the world—besides eating—is learning new recipes from her family and sharing them with her friends.

Nana makes every kitchen adventure
one to remember!

Nana is full of quirks that make her completely Nana! She loves making up silly songs when she's doing ANYTHING, she’s very serious about her chopstick skills (even when using them to grab cookies instead of noodles), and she’s convinced that a good dance break makes any day better. She keeps a “Super Secret Recipes Notebook” filled with doodles, food experiments, and her dream of one day opening the Biggest and Best Lao Restaurant Ever—right next to her mama’s kitchen, of course.

MEET THE
AUTHOR

Tina is a Laotian-American woman and a daughter of immigrants. Growing up she never saw herself in the books being read at school. She was bullied for the food she ate and the way she looked. She rarely felt like she belonged anywhere. AND truthfully,

She often felt invisible.

Now that she’s older she still doesn't see Southeast Asian communities represented in today's children's books! So she decided to change that. She self-published her own children's book, so that kids like her feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
